SURELY

Surely is a non-alcoholic wine made with premium California grapes. Unlike most N.A. brands, Surely is produced through the traditional wine-making process, then the alcohol is extracted before it’s bottled. This ensures a beverage that actually tastes like wine, rather than an approximation. This thoughtful attention to detail is what drew us to the project in the first place.

For Surely’s redesign, the goal was to elevate the brand to a more sophisticated level. To make the bottles stand out on a shelf crowded with inventory, we designed a new condensed logo in a much bolder type. This logo is featured front and center throughout the brand’s packaging. The supporting type is simple and muted to provide visual counterbalance.

The color palette was inspired by the tasting notes of the wine itself—enticing shades of burgundy, deep green and cream—and creates a visual connection between the flavor profiles of each varietal and its corresponding packaging. What you see is what you can expect to sip.

For Surely’s most recent red blend, we departed from their core packaging design since the wine itself is quite different. For this series, we commissioned Hallie Brewer to create the art that cover the front label.
